Hypoxia-induced factor-1α and markers of inflammation in patients with ischemic stroke

چکیده

Ischemic stroke (IS) occurs as a result of local disturbance hemocirculation and hypoxia in the brain tissue. Hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α), which is involved regulation tissue oxygen levels, plays an important role pathophysiology stroke, including neuronal survival, neuroinflammation, angiogenesis, glucose metabolism, blood-brain barrier permeability, IS outcomes. The purpose study was to determine relationship between blood levels HIF-1α degree neurological deficit acute period outcome disease. We examined 58 people with aged 73 (67-81) years. Patients were divided into two groups – discharged dead. severity (NIHSS), deficit, comorbidity index, HIF-1α, p53 protein, interleukin-6, cystatin C, CRP, creatinine, hematological parameters determined at admission, on days 3 10 At admission lower than comparison group remained reduced until 10th day. On day association index disease determined. observed feedback content erythrocytes, hemoglobin hematocrit, can be regarded reflection hemic component mixed hypoxia. In dead patients, increased level C detected, associated concentrations. all periods observation IS, correlation creatinine CRP noted. These results may indicate dysfunction endotheliocytes, inflammation IS. prognostic significance for AUC = 0.900. Blood

O10: Thrombo-Inflammation in Acute Ischemic Stroke

Ischemic stroke has been classified as a merely thrombotic disease, so the main goal of its treatment is the recanalization of the occluded vasculature. However, despite fast restoration of blood circulation, progressive stroke still develops in many patients, which has led to the concept of reperfusion injury.  The underlying mechanism is only partly known. Though, it is accepted now, tha...

Evaluation of Homocysteine Level as a Risk Factor among Patients with Ischemic Stroke and Its Subtypes

Background: Epidemiological research has shown that increased total homocysteine (tHcy) levels are associated with an increased risk of thromboembolic disease; however, controversy still exists over which subtype of stroke is allied to hyperhomocysteinemia. This study aimed to investigate whether elevated tHcy is an independent risk factor for ischemic stroke and to compare tHcy levels in patie...

Title: The Role of Hypoxia Inducible Factor 1α (HIF1α) in Modulating Cobalt-Induced Lung Inflammation Authors:

Hypoxia plays an important role in development, cellular homeostasis, and pathological conditions, such as cancer and stroke. There is also growing evidence that hypoxia is an important modulator of the inflammatory process. Hypoxia inducible factors (HIFs) are a family of proteins that regulate the cellular response to oxygen deficit and loss of HIFs impairs inflammatory cell function. There i...

Safety and feasibility of intravenous thrombolytic therapy in Iranian patients with acute ischemic stroke

Background: Thrombolytic therapy is the only approved treatment for acute cerebral ischemia. The hemorrhagic transformation is the greatest complication of this treatment, which may occur after recanalization of occluded artery. The aim of this study was to determine factors associated with clinical improvement and worsening in patients with acute ischemic stroke treated with intravenous th...
